Where From Here

I am finally finding more time to write, although my husband would probably argue that I don't really have the time. Hehe I need to do some dishes and laundry, but that can wait until tomorrow right?   I am at the very, very end of this second book and will begin some edits. For all of those out there who have not read the first book it will be free for several days in preparation for the release of my second book.

Check out Going Home, Madilyn series Volume 1  on kindle and in the next few days it will be free!!!

Sorry this post is so short, but I want to get back to writing and wrapping up Where From Here. Also in my second book there will be an excerpt from another trilogy/series/ stand alone novel (not sure what it will turn into yet) so keep tuned in.

Working Hard....

I had hoped to get my second book in the Madi series out in January. Well January has come and gone and it is still unfinished. I went through a bout of low motivation- now I am back on the book. I am a little over half way done with it and am completely pleased with how it is shaping up. The second book is entitled Where From Here and it details Madi's decisions that she must make with her life now that she has moved home. There is heartache and confusion as Madi learns what it is going to take to carve out a new life for her in her hometown.

I am so excited about publishing it and hope, fingers crossed, hope that I will have it out soon. On to my other current endeavors. I am also working on a new series. I don't have a title in mind yet, but I do know that it is going to be geared towards a YA audience. This book is going to be a YA dystopian novel, focusing on a strong teenage female lead who finds herself suddenly expected to take care of her younger brothers. This book may end up being a series or a triology, I am unsure at this time. I love exploring new areas of writing and I don't think I am going to grow tired of it anytime soon.

Onto the more mundane aspects of my life. I am currently unemployed and as my unemployment is nearing exhaustion I am feverently tying to find a new job. Something to pay the bills because as most Indie authors will point out there is a reason for the saying starving artist. I love writing and it is a passion for me, but unfortuantely it does not pay the bills.

So with all this being said and the fact that it is Valentines day I want to say a huge thank you to my husband. He has been right by myside supporting me in my writing both emotionally and financially. He has given up much of his spare time to ensure that we have the money to pay bills and still be able to eat. He has been my own personal cheerleader when I first decided I wanted to give writing a try and he has continuously supported me in all the emotionally trying times I have faced sense.

When I was unsure about publishing my first book he gave me the little extra support I needed to face those fears. Fears that people would hate my book, something  that I hold very dear to my heart, almost like a child. Fears that I simply would not be good enough and fears that I would be embarrassed by not be accepted. I am totally blessed by the husband I have who is undeniably my better half. He loves me unconditionally, he supports me unconditionally, and he is there to give me that proverbial kick in the ass when I need it.

New year, new goals....

2012 was a rocky, rough year to say the least. Through it all I managed to turn things around and somehow make some positives out of all my negatives. one of my biggest positives publishing my first book. So far it has went better then I had anticipated, my biggest fear was no one would read it :(. I haven't sold enough copies to be some super author, but I have managed to sell more then I thought I would. (Considering I thought it would be zero)

Now that I published my first I have a yearning to publish more. So my goal for this year is to publish at least two more books. Currently I am about halfway done with Where From Here, the second book in the Madilyn series. I also just started a new book, possibly for a new series, depends on how the first one goes. This book is going to be a YA dystopian novel, since I find this genre is the one I most like reading I thought hey, Why not publish one in it??? So I am doing precisely that.

For those of you who enjoyed my first book I am thinking about doing a few teasers of the Where From Here...If anyone is interested please let me know! Okay back to typing some books :)

Contest

So I know a few of my facebook friends were wanting paper copies and since I am so excited about publishing my first book I thought I would do a contest.  I am in the process of double checking my book before I publish it in print. I just feel in hard copy it needs to be extra edited...part of my 'obssessiveness' I guess. So I hope to have it ready to buy in book print next week.

On to the contest. In hopes of getting my book out there anyone who shares the link to my book on facebook or posts about it on their facebook page encouraging others to read it come here and leave me a comment letting me know you shared it. I will out all of the names into random.com and choose a winner. The winner will get a signed copy of my book.

So share the link or comment about it then comment on here and let me know you shared my book. The contest will be up until I get my book completed for print (Should be at least through the weekend). If you have allready shared it or posted about it on your page feel free to come here and comment. You don't have to post about it again. If you tag me in your post I will automatically enter you.

Published

Boy has it been awhile....Writing a book is the easy part, the hard part editing and formatting to be published. I was lucky enough to have a great friend who was willing to help edit for me and give me some feed back on the book I wrote. I started the long journey on publishing on kindle a few weeks ago. I got everything ready(I thought) just waiting to get the final edits back from my friend and do my read over.

That was last week. I out the finishing touches(or what I thought was the finishing touches) on it last Wednesday or so. Fast forward to this weekend when I prepare to oublish to kindle. I used a website to prepare it for book print(one that is printed when ordered) that was also suppose to format to kindle. Everything I wrote was formatted for a print book.

I follow the websites directions and download then upload to kindle the edition that was supposed to be formatted for kindle. SURPRISE-it wasn't. So I spent the weekend and Monday adding page breaks, taking away things that aren't needed in e books, and polishing all of the chapters to adhere to kindle formatting. Come Monday I pressed the publish button. Silly me, I forgot to add myself as the author so it was sent back to me. Today I fixed that correction and resubmitted.

Before I feel asleep I decided to check, just to see if it might be up, totally didn't think it would be since I had just submitted it less than twelve hours ago. Lo-and-behold it is kind of up. LOL. What I mean by that is if you search my name on kindle my book pops up. It is not available to be bought yet, but just doing that serach and seeing MY name and MY book come up is such a feeling that I am not sure I have the adequete words to describe it. Needless to say I am unbelievably excited and undeniably unable to go to sleep.

So if anyone out there whats to see my book and read the description, but be unable to buy it yet here is the link!!!!

Sleepless Nights

so my first book is complete, minus editing and revisions which i have started. im updating from my hone which for some reason does not believe in proper grammer, so sorry beforehand. i am in love with the series i have started and have even started the second book. i find myself starting to work on them late in the evening when my household and school duties are complete and they suck me in. i end up spending half the night up working on them. i intend to post a preview of a chapter  from the first book titled ,coming home, soon. i hope one day i can have at least one person as excited about my book as i am. it is so refreshing to do something i love.again sorry about the grammer and punctuation issues, next time i will be sure to post from my computer.
